| Details: JOB SUMMARY: The Director of Development will serve as a primary advocate for SMDC Foundation fundraising priorities with an emphasis in Superior, Northern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. This position will be based in Duluth and will be responsible for working with the SMHS Foundation Board of Trustees. The primarily responsibility is to identify major gift prospects, cultivate relationships with prospects, solicit gifts and pledges and provide stewardship to major gift donors. Under the direction of the Chief Development Officer and as part of the SMDC Foundation team of development professionals will develop fundraising strategy for the assigned geographic area and, using the Planned Giving Director as a resource, provide major and planned giving opportunities to prospects. The Director will also work with the Foundation Coordinator on matters relating to prospect research, predictive modeling and record-keeping and the Annual Giving and Special Events Director in planning for a full spectrum of activities, including special fundraising events, an employee campaign in the assigned area and procurement of sponsorships for Foundation activities. Position requires high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with donors, prospects, patients, co-workers, and others. There is assistance available for relocation. | ||||
